The Rules
1. The ‘Tweddie Friendship Maul’ is intended to be a fundraiser which extends and strengthens the Masonic friendship between lodges.
2. Installation Communications are specifically excluded from this scheme.
3. The Lodge holding Tweddie’s maul is the host Lodge.
4. The maul must be present at all communications of the Lodge.
5. If 3 Brethren, from the same visiting Lodge request Tweddie’s maul, they cannot be denied and must be given the maul. However they must ‘pay’ the host Lodge a ransom of £15 (at least) for possession.
6. The losing Lodge will send the ransom monies (plus any enhancement) to 115 The Mount, Belfast, BT5 4ND with details of the new host Lodge.
7. The receipt for the donation will be in the form of a certificate confirming their dates of ownership of the maul.
8. There is no restriction on the number of times that any one Lodge may be the host
Lodge.
9. If the host Lodge misplaces the maul there will be a charge of £150 to cover the cost of a replacement.
10. The maul cannot be claimed by a Lodge outside of the Island of Ireland.
To check which lodge has possession of the maul, and when and where they meet check the Grand Lodge web site, the TLC web site or contact 115 The Mount
(029 9045 9694).
N.B. Sterling cheques in support of TLC MUST be made out to "Teddies for Loving Care" in order to facilitate clearance via the bank.
